Jon Holder-HSFA Host

Jon Holder is beginning his 4th year as the Producer and Host of High School Football Alabama’s After The Game, a live stream Friday night video show based in the Anniston/Gadsden area. 2023 marks Jon’s 33rd year of hosting high school football Friday night shows in the state. In fact, Jon has broadcast 417 Friday night scoreboard shows. Additionally, he is the Publisher, Chief Editor, and Writer of the High School Football Alabama magazine. He was also the Managing Editor of the Pigskin Roundup magazine for 15 years and also was the chief editor and writer of four other high school football preview magazines.

Jon has served as the studio host of the AHSAA Super 7 football and State Finals basketball broadcasts on the AHSAA TV Network, was the first host of the AHSAA Weekly television program, was the host of the first ever AHSAA football playoff bracket reveal shows and reclassification reveal shows, and spent many years as a game commentator on the AHSAA Radio Network. He was also the Producer and Host of the Pigskin Roundup High School Football Show for 16 years on WEAC TV 24. That program won the Alabama Broadcasters Association Abby Award for Best Local Television Sports Program in Alabama in 2017.

Holder serves on the Board of Directors and is Vice President of the Calhoun County Sports Hall of Fame. He has served as the emcee for every induction ceremony in the Hall of Fame’s history. Holder was on the Selection Committee for the Alabama High School Sports Hall of Fame for six years, and is also the

emcee of the Cherokee County Sports Hall of Fame, Etowah County Sports Hall of Fame, and the Alabama Sports Officials Hall of Fame. Jon has been a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes board in East Alabama for 24 years. He is a frequent speaker at civic groups, churches, schools, and quarterback clubs across the region.

Holder is recognized statewide as one of the most knowledgeable observers of high school football, appearing as a frequent guest on prep football media shows around the state. He has been an invited guest to speak on high school football at the Alabama High School Athletic Association Media Day and at the Calhoun County High School Football Media Day.
